Tonje has a background from basic research within the biological sciences. She holds a major in physiology and a doctorate in molecular cell biology. Tonje has worked as a researcher within fields varying from hyperbaric oxygen treatment of radiation injuries in rat models, to viral fish diseases and nanoparticle-induced cellular stress responses in human cell lines.
As a patent attorney, she assists in mapping the needs and opportunities to protect intellectual property, and in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Tonje works with a variety of clients from small start-ups to large multinational corporations, providing a unique experience in adapting the advice to each client’s needs.
Tonje has worked at Onsagers since October 2021.

2018 – 2021: Oslo University Hospital/University of Oslo, PhD-candidate. Implications of nanoparticle-induced changes in cellular stress responses with a focus on lysosomal dysregulation and autophagy.

2017 – 2018: Norwegian Veterinary Institute, Researcher. The interaction between infectious salmon anemia virus and Atlantic salmon red blood cells and its relation to infectious salmon anemia pathogenesis.
