Jan is a patent engineer with a PhD in materials technology. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications in Norway and internationally.

Jan has many years of experience from applied research, qualification of new technologies and consulting and certification from the maritime and energy sectors. He has broad expertise in several technical areas, such as nanotechnology, development, qualification and use of new materials in the maritime, process industry, aquaculture, renewable energy, sports and oil and gas.

He works with identifying needs and opportunities for the protection of intellectual property (IP) including freedom to operate analysis (FTO), patent invalidation and infringement and providing patent validity analysis and other IP matter-related advice.
