CEO

Morten Hatlem joined Onsagers in March 2022 as COO and in April 2023 became CEO. Morten has 25 years of experience from different management positions in both Norwegian and international companies. Morten is passionate about developing Onsagers as a future-oriented organisation – with an invaluably good working environment and an equally invaluable close cooperation with the company’s clients. He enjoys working in team processes with development from the idea to conceptualisation and implementation.
The common thread of Morten’s far-reaching experience is from companies with a strong desire to build insight-based, data-driven organisations with a strong focus on improvement and development.
Morten has 20 years’ experience in the media industry and in particular Schibsted, challenged early on by digital competition from international businesses such as Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple. Schibsted developed during this period from a Norwegian media company with printed daily newspapers such as Aftenposten and VG to becoming a large international media company with a high number of digital users through media such as FINN.no.
Morten’s management background is also from the Egmont Group, which, among other operations, buys and develops intellectual property rights from companies such as Disney or the Premier League. On behalf of the owners of media rights, Egmont develops TV content, books, magazines, apps, toys and learning products that are sold in more than 30 countries.
Morten has experience as Director within the National Security Agency (NSM), one of Norway’s so-called secret services. The NSM authority ensures the protection of critical societal functions against cyber attack and is a preventive security service. Work involves the protection of both physical infrastructure and digital services. NSM develops methods, expertise and tools used by many businesses in Norway needing to protect their intangible assets, confidential information and business secrets.
Before Morten joined Onsagers, he was Director of organisation, strategy and business management at Kommunalbanken (KBN). KBN is one of Norway’s largest financial institutions. As one of two systemically important banks in Norway and is subject to strict management and control requirements from the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority. By offering green financing, KBN is not only a driving force in the green shift but also in developing expertise and providing insight to the benefit of its customers, furthering advancement hand-in-hand with clients.

2005 – 2008: Schibsted Media Group, Salgs- og markedsdirektør, Leder for de kommersielle områdene til Schibsted Søk med fokus på et helhetlig salgs- og markedsarbeid.
