Eivind has extensive experience from patenting within life-sciences. He has had IP-responsibility in many innovation projects concerning antibiotics, pharmaceutical formulations, cell therapy, gene therapy and antibodies. He is passionate for connecting patent protection to business-plans, so customers get value for money. Furthermore, he has worked a lot with Freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis for minimizing the risk of launching a new product or service. In short, his core competence involves:
• Securing valuable IP in innovation projects; outlinging suitable patenting strategies.
• Patentability assessment and FTO-analysis
• Drafting of patent applications; directing their prosecution
Both patentability, enforceability, cost, timing of launch, important markets, important production sites, and competitor activities are aspects that should be included in the IP strategy of innovative companies operating globally.
Eivind has had IP-responsibility in innovation projects that have resulted in successful launches of pharmaceutical drugs in USA. Thus, he is one of the few who has drafted patent applications giving rise to patents protecting FDA-approved drugs, i.e. listed in Orange Book.
He has over two decades of patenting experience and he is qualified European Patent Attorney.
